home > news January 04, 2008 - El Nino Update Greetings from Salt Lake City, Utah. SWAT has an important message for our El Nino 2008 participants and for their parents. There are several major storms that are covering the West Coast, moving east in our direction. Areas throughout Utah, Nevada and California have been issued storm warnings and are expected will be receiving 4-10 FEET of snow and increased winds. AS THE SAFETY OF OUR PARTICIPANTS IS OUR TOP PRIORITY, ALL BUSES WILL NOW BE DEPARTING SALT LAKE CITY SATURDAY MORNING, after checking out of the hotels, foregoing the last day of skiing/snowboarding. All students will be notified of this change tonight at room check. Please expect the return travel time to take longer than the initial trip out to Utah. All buses are winterized, equipped with chains and drivers experienced in all-weather driving. We will updating our voice cast system to give you specific information regarding the buses. You can also check back on this website for more info. Details for the missed day of skiing/snowboarding will be mailed out within 10 days after this trip. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you next year! Sincerely, The SWAT Team
